The continue button was disabled but didn’t look grey like it typically does in other UIs. Fans of resource management games might know the drill, but I think the game is gonna appeal to a larger audience, and having a fun tutorial that is not just a block of text, but a great part of gameplay, was a good start to Hell Architect.

The devil, named Frank, acts as an instructor and you are a rookie to whom he has to show the ropes to. There are three tutorial levels, and they perfectly explain how the game works in three different missions. I was proven wrong when I looked up the name of the voice actors from the credits, but I think it shows the level of quality that I’m talking about. At one point I thought I recognized one of the voices from the Rick and Morty series. I wasn’t expecting voice acting at all, let alone it being this good, and it kept getting better as I played more. And the first thing that I notice, is the brilliant voice acting of the devil instructing me what to do. I know it’s not a big deal, but it seemed like an odd order to me.Īfter I got over the initial confusion of navigating the menu, I started the tutorial. The button that a new player wants is probably Tutorial, which is fourth on the list. So the two top options are basically useless for a new player. The first option is a poorly greyed-out Continue button, followed by Load Game. I started the game, and… I know this might seem like I’m nit-picking over small details, but the game’s main menu is confusing. The first tutorial mission starts with a simple layout and some prebuilt structures as we learn the basics. So keep that in mind before reading this review or purchasing the game. While the characters are cartoonish and the violence unrealistic, and you can disable nudity and blood in the settings (which are great options to have), the nature of Hell Architect still might be uncomfortable for some players. Developed by Woodland Games and published by Leonardo Interactive, Hell Architect takes an interesting approach towards the genre with a unique theme and delivers a great experience both in gameplay and aesthetics.īefore we start, as you can guess from the title or the images, the game includes a lot of violence and nudity. While the album flows together there are times vocal seem stressed but Architects are still in stride throughout the whole album making it immersive and fresh.Hell Architect is a base building, resource management game about managing hell. It is done in such a way that Tom himself would be proud of this evolution in delivery. I feel the album is a sort of ‘in honor’ of their lost bandmate. Overall, “ Holy Hell” encompasses the journey of grief and loss. The track offers some excellent guitar and drum work for intensity with shrill vocals and anguish for delivery. Tom wrote a good portion of “Doomsday” and some of his actual guitars made it into the song, but the majority of the album was unfortunately written without him. “ Doomsday,” was the first song done after Tom Searle’s passing. Video still from the video, “Royal Beggars” The album still has alot to offer without Tom Searle but it seems his creative input he was working before he passed on was implemented in subtle ways such as guitar riffs that keep the album going in a fresh sense. There are some twists and turns in this album, but they are welcomed. The track offers up some intense delivery with heavy drums shadowing screaming vocals. You can hear the anguish and sorrow in the delivery. It clearly is on the subject matter of loss and the possibility of a higher power while dealing with said loss. Title track, “ Holy Hell” gives you that exact reaction upon first listen. But, they persevered and now enter, “ Holy Hell” bringing a new edge to the band. The release of the record “ All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us“, brought the tragic news about the founding guitarist and songwriter Tom Searle’s passing, this had a huge impact on the band, and thought of not going on. With this date creeping up on us, the hype around the album is peaking.
